After spending days in the school, I learned many things during my experiences. To my surprise, there has not been much changed since my days in school. The best part was being welcomed by the entire school and staff. I felt part of a community even though I was new to the school. I learned the importance of building a connection with staff and students.
As I walked the halls, I saw many positive and encouraging signs posted on the walls. I learned about the importance of inclusion and diversity in a school. That we can learn from one another. Representation plays a major role in the halls and on the classroom walls.
In my time in the classrooms, I learned how seating arrangement has a big impact on students and how they learn. Meeting students needs and requirements has a huge impact on their learning. Every student learns differently. Students who may struggle might have a better learning opportunity if seated by someone who could help them if needed.
As a future educator, I want to work towards having a welcoming safe environment through being a role model and representation in my classroom. I want to build and create relationships with students and staff. My goal is to be the person I needed when I was in school! I look to have a positive impact on whoever may cross paths with me!
