My name is Zoe Akrigg and I am 18 years old and in my first year of at the University of Regina in the Elementary Education program and I am also taking a certificate of extended studies in Inclusive education at the same time. I have two younger sisters and my mother is Canadian born and my father moved to Canada in 1999 from England to start the family farm with his father. I have many different nationalities in my family and I am proud of them all. Both of my grandmothers were teachers and my mother has been a teacher for many years but is now a vice principal, so teaching is kind of in my blood. This made my choice to become a teacher very clear. Throughout my first year of university I have become very passionate about teaching and equity and inclusivity within the classroom. Because of my education classes so far, I am more than excited than ever to become a teacher.
