In this week’s learning post I have been looking at books, audio books and podcasts on how plants can help a person’s mental health and well-being. In this podcast that “Plant Daddy” has posted it also has Maria Failla that is speaking in the podcast. They have discussed how to control your well being in your own jungle in your own home. Listening to yourself about what you need in different seasons and days of the year. They talk about learning lessons from your plants and how daily affirmations can change the way you think everyday.
Surround yourself in plants that are growing with you as a person, making daily affirmations calming as you are growing with your plants. Watching every plant become bigger and stronger. You and your plants are growing at the same or slower rates. Watching your plants grow new leaves can help show the growth as a person. Plants can help people’s mental health tremendously as it is something to take care of and a way of self care. Many people find that watering and fertilising plants is a calming activity. Plants are a great way to relax and unwind.
There are many other audio books that “Plant Daddy” has that also speaks about mental health and how surrounding yourself with positive materials such as plants and sun can really help change ones mood and feelings. Going into plant stores just browsing can change a persons mood tremendously.

Wow, I’d never thought about it that way before. I like the idea of having daily affirmations connected to plants. I’m gonna have to try that out!
This is such a cool and unique perspective about plants. I love the idea of growing alongside your plants and how they can help our own mental health.
