For my ECS 303 class, myself and my peers engaged in a learning task to document the area where each of us live, located on Treaty 4 territory, homelands of the the nehiyawak (Cree), Nakawē (Saulteaux), Dakota, Nakota, Lakota Nations, and the Michif Nation.

As a future educator to young children, I must acknowledge the responsibility that I have to reach truth and reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples through my teaching. My teaching must respect and incorporate Indigenous knowledges and perspectives.
