This week presented an unexpected twist in my learning journey. While I had planned to continue mastering the art of card tricks, a trip to the breathtaking Banff meant a pause in my usual practice routine. However, true learning knows no bounds, and I found an alternative way to keep my magic quest alive.
Embracing Adaptability
Being in Banff, surrounded by stunning landscapes, was a refreshing break from the routine. However, I was determined not to let this pause my learning project. This week, instead of practicing card tricks hands-on, I turned to 52Kards, a renowned YouTube channel dedicated to magic and cardistry.
Learning from 52Kards
52Kards has been a fantastic resource for magicians of all levels. Their tutorials range from basic to advanced techniques, making it an ideal platform for learning new tricks and refining skills. Even without a deck in hand, watching their videos in Banff provided me with insights into the subtleties of card magic and inspiration for future practice.
Documenting My Learning
Although I couldn’t practice physically, I took notes and sketched ideas for incorporating the new tricks I observed into my repertoire. This method of learning was different but equally enriching. I documented this phase through screenshots of the videos and notes I made, showcasing a different yet effective way of learning.
Reflection
This week taught me that learning doesn’t have to be linear. It’s about adaptability and making the most of the resources available to you, wherever you are. Watching videos from 52Kards in Banff allowed me to continue my learning journey, albeit in a different format. I look forward to implementing these new tricks once I’m back with my deck of cards.
Even when life takes you to new places, there are always opportunities to learn and grow. My experience this week reinforced the importance of flexibility in learning and the vast resources available online. I’m excited to return to hands-on practice, armed with new knowledge and fresh perspectives from my time in Banff.
