Personal Land Acknowledgment

I’d first like to acknowledge that I am on Treaty 4 territory, this is the homeland of the Metis Nation, land of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and Anishinabek peoples. In the spirit of reconciliation and respect, I want to honour those who have come before us, their sacrifice and traumatic history will never be forgotten. I hereby recognize the cultural traditions, spiritual value, and importance of Indigenous people on this land that we all share. May we all be the caretakers of this land.

We are all treaty people!

As an aspiring educator, it’s important for me to share my teaching philosophies. I believe that my philosophy begins with my beliefs. So here is a list of some of my educational beliefs.

  • I believe that all children have a right to education.
  • I believe that diversity is power.
  • I believe that our differences make us stronger as a group.
  • I believe that there is no better place to build meaningful relationships than at school.
  • I believe that every child is capable of learning.
  • I believe that there is always opportunity for growth.
  • I believe that creativity is the key to success.
  • I believe children should always have a say in their learning.
