How to Approach Digital citizenship
We are all a digital citizen. If you have ever looked anything up on the internet, sent a snap, checked Facebook, made a tweet or watched TikTok, you are a digital citizen. Approaching the topic of digital citizenship in the classroom is an important topic to discuss. There are 9 themes of digital citizenship. Having kids understand the 9 themes is a very critical thing when using the internet. I think that I will introduce the themes 1 by 1 to the students. We will take a day for each theme so that the kids have a full understanding of what they mean. I have to do further research on…

Contributing to Others!
Contributing to the learning of others is something that was an important aspect of the class! I contributed to my classmates in a few ways! I commented on their posts. In these comments I left my suggestions and knowledge that I had. I answered questions to classmates when they would text or snap me individually! Below I have listed some of the comments that I made to help contribute to the learning of my classmates! In the weekly zoom meeting that I attended I feel also contributed to the learning of my classmates. Each meeting if we were put into out break out rooms I would have my camera on…

Best Part of My Project
The best thing about the project is that no matter what the cookies looked like, if I failed decorating them or they didn’t turn out I still had cookies to eat! This was something that my family had also really enjoyed. Each week there were cookies in the counter for them to eat. Some of the reviews that I was given were “The cookie decorating skills are mid but these cookies sure so taste good” – Rudy (Brother) “Can this project take all year so we can have cookies all year round” – Kelly (Father) “Wow this weeks cookies actually look like you know what you were doing” -Jay (Mother)…

The Icing to Finish it Off!
Looking back at my learning project there are many things that to reflect on, some good, some bad and some that I did not think I would be reflecting on: My patience is very limited, I do not like to wait for things to dry and always tried to rush getting everything done. It is very hard to learn a new skill, it takes hours and hours of practice yet it still never seems perfect, and you never seem to be happy with the product you are producing! You are your own worst critic, I did not think that my cookie decorating skills were anything special but every time my…

Barn Yard
This week I wanted to focus on putting all of my skills I have practices to the test! I wanted to stick to a theme within my final batch of decorating and the theme I choose is barn yard animals. Growing up on a farm I thought this would be the perfect thing to try and make. I found cookies that I wanted to re-create. The cookies that I found were on Pinterest. I was very skeptical when starting them, I did not think that I would be able to create something so cute. However, I am actually quite happy with the looks of the cookies. Overall, I believed I…

Trying Different Things!
New Learning This week I wanted to focus most of my time on learning about different techniques that can be used with icing. There are 2 techniques that I mainly wanted to focus on which are called, a wet on wet technique and a wet on try technique. Both of these were something that I have never tried and was very interested to learn more about. While looking at the wet on wet technique I read an article from Your Baking Bestie, I found this to be a very useful reading and gave me an understanding on what the technique is and how I to get best results. For the…
