I just wanna say that I am very proud of myself for this learning project post. As some of you may know in my last blog I was having some trouble crocheting my magic circle. I finally had achieved creating the magic circle but didn’t know how to crochet any further. For this post, I found a YouTube video that explained How to Increase on the Magic Circle for beginners by Libby. In this video, she explains the stitch pattern that typically is used to increase on the magic circle. She explains that with every round of stitches, the stitch count is going to increase by 6, in order to make even stitches around the circle. For example,
Round 1: 6 stitches
Round 2: 12 stitches
Round 3: 18 stitches
Within each round there are increase stitches and single stitches. For example if I was on round 5, I would stitch an increase and then four single stitches… for round 6 I would stitch an increase than 5 single stitches.
So basically the single stitches and the increase have to add up to whatever round you are on. This took me a while to figure out as the video only went up to round 4, so I had to ask chat gpt to explain round 5-10 for me, which would be one downside of the video. The best part of the video is that she counts the stitches outloud with you and doesn’t fast forward to the next round. I can without a doubt know if I am doing it wrong or right because I can follow each stitch with her.
I am unsure of the finished result of this project. Although I do know that mastering the magic circle leads to having an easier time making other projects. I will try and carry what I learnt through this learning post into other projects of mine.
See you next time,
Grace

Hi Grace!
I am so happy that you were able to complete the magic circle! That must feel very rewarding, especially since you were struggling with it prior. I am going to have to checkout your resource because I have always struggles with the magic circle! I’m happy you stuck with it. Thank for sharing this week. Best of luck in your future creations.
