This is the written part of a Mind Map that I made which follows my learning journey about Residential Schools, in particular the organizations that are working to bring awareness to Residential Schools and reconciliation to Indigenous peoples. I think this is an incredibly important topic that should be discussed in all classrooms.

The Witness Blanket
- “The blanket is a universal symbol of protection. For many of us, it identifies who we are and where we’re from – we wear them in ceremony and give them as gifts. Blankets protect our young and comfort our elders.”
- Inspired by a woven blanket, The Witness Blanket is an art installation.
- It is made from items reclaimed from Residential Schools, churches, government buildings, etc… from all across Canada
