Throughout ECS 100 I have learned a lot of things about what it means to be a teacher. Here I am going to write just a few of the most important things I’ve learned so I can look back on them in the future.
In this course I have learned about the importance of inclusive education and how it is extremely beneficial for all students. We must teach for the “society of tomorrow” so we can achieve the society that we want to live in. This really shows how important of a job a teacher has and it really made me realize the impact we can have in the world. Another important thing I learned was about gender and sexual diversity. I think that by educating ourselves on this topic we can improve the lives of students in our future classrooms. Indigenous education is also very valuable and an important aspect that must be included in the classroom. This course has developed my knowledge on key topics and has deepened my understanding of what it means to be a teacher.
