Adaptive Dimension
Adaptive Dimension is very important to any educator and it refers to four main variables: learning environment, instruction, assessment and resources. Adaptations are made by teachers in order to help support students and ensure they achieve all learning outcomes through k-12. Effective instruction, including the use of the Adaptive Dimension, will support most students in achieving success. However, some students may require additional supports which could be determined through discussions with other educational professionals and in turn would involve adaptations to the learning environment, instruction, assessment and/or resources for individual students.
Throughout the Fall 2023 semester we were tasked with creating learning profiles in groups, these leaning profiles focused on how a student learns, and is shaped by the student’s learning style, multiple intelligence preferences, gender and culture. These learning profiles help us gain a better understanding of how to better adapt a students learning environment to help ensure we are meeting their needs.
