Hello!
My name is Jordyn Keck, I was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. I am a student in the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina studying Early Elementary Education. I have always had a love of learning and leading. I am one of the oldest cousins in my family so I often had a leadership role in those relationships and I believe that is where my interest in education sparked. I now work with kids in both of my jobs, one being a daycare and the other teaching a music class for 6 and 7 year old’s. I have never been more passionate about my work than I am now.

In high school I had the wonderful opportunity to take two separate leadership classes. These classes not only taught me about leadership styles and methods but also taught me about myself and how to lead in a way that inspires others. Through this class I had many opportunities to speak in front of my school and other large crowds which has allowed me to become extremely confident in public speaking and presenting. This class has provided me with many skills I continue to use today.
I currently teach a music class for six and seven year old’s at School of Rock Regina. This class has allowed me to learn about curriculums and teaching methods I otherwise would have not learned. Because of this job I feel comfortable teaching students and feel prepared to enter the classroom as I complete university. I have learned how to keep students engaged and interested in what they are learning. Creating lesson plans that are both educational and engaging so my students can learn in a fun environment. Learning all of this through actually teaching a class has been incredibly helpful as I navigate a teaching environment prior to finishing my degree.
