Hello and welcome! My name is Kira Mazur and I am completing my last semester of my BEd Elem After Degree. After completing my business degree and working in an accounting firm, I knew that I needed to go back to school to pursue my continued childhood passion for teaching! Since starting my education journey, I have worked with students ages 6-13 teaching art at the Cathedral Art School. As well, I have worked with students in Grades 5, 6, and 7 during my pre-internship and my internship. I am looking forward to learning and growing as a teacher and individual this semester!
Technology in the Classroom
I believe that access to technology in the classroom is crucial for students developing digital literacies at a young age. As technology progresses, students need to be informed on how to look critically at what they read online, utilize helpful online educational tools, and be aware of technology risks and dangers. With workplaces requiring professionals to have high levels of digital literacy to be successful, it is more important than ever that students are developing these skills. As teachers, using technology in the classroom will provide students with a baseline on how to use technology in a positive way and set them up for future success.

Blogging
I do not have any experience blogging. However, I think blogging is a great way to share your ideas, network, and create a digital community of like minded people. I am looking forward to learning and growing alongside my classmates this semester.
