Field Experience In Review

Over the course of this semester I have had the opportunity to apply the knowledge that I know in the classroom. By the end of this semester I will have spent 8 half days in a grade one classroom. Each day I go, the cooperating teacher never fails to inspire me more to become a teacher. She is so kind and caring about all of her students and other teachers. She is very organized and the learning environment in the grade one room was very positive. When I walked into her classroom, it was so colorful and it instantly made me feel super excited and happy to be there. She made me feel welcomed and I am so grateful to have gotten this opportunity to learn from her. Being in her classroom makes me so excited to get my own classroom! She always encourages her students to be the best they can be. I will cherish and remember the spark I have seen within each student! I hope one day I will see the same spark in my own classroom and see each of their love for learning.

In the school there is a room in the middle of the school that has a whole bunch of snacks and food in it, this room with snacks and food is there to make sure that no one is hungry and that everyone has full stomachs! Every year of your teaching career is a new year and you get all new learners. Every teacher will gain their knowledge and experience every year with teaching different subjects and different children. On the wall in the classroom there is a big sticker of a tree. On each branch of the tree, she put up a picture of every student in her room with their families. On the wall with the tree is a quote that says “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” This makes sure that everyone in the grade one class is included in everything and that no one gets excluded, no matter what. It is amazing to see that no matter what someone size is, color of skin is, or home life is, they will always fit in no matter what. Everyone just joins together and welcomes everyone and doesn’t leave anyone out.
