EC & I 830 Contemporary Issues in Educational Technology

Hello!

Hello!

EC&I 830 is my final class in the Master of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership program at the University of Regina. While I cannot believe how fast the journey has gone, it also feels as though I have been on this path for a long time. Although this graduate experience has been challenging at times, it has played an important role in challenging my previously held views in areas such as curriculum, leadership, and technology. The impact of this learning journey on my career and my perspective on education has been profound—it has shaped how I teach, lead, and continue to grow as an educator.

Throughout my 27-year career in education, I have worked exclusively at the high school level. For 26 of those years, I taught at Vanier Collegiate, a Catholic high school in Moose Jaw, where I served as a classroom and online teacher, as well as an academic advisor. This past year, I made a significant change and accepted a position at Peacock Collegiate, a public high school in Moose Jaw, where I taught Financial Literacy 10, Foods 10 and 20, and provided SSST and facilitation support. This fall brings another exciting change—I will be stepping into the role of Vice Principal at Sunningdale School, a K–8 elementary school. While I have a great deal to learn, I am truly excited (and a little nervous!) for this next chapter.

Outside of school, I have three wonderful adult children and two dogs that keep me company. I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, staying active, and relaxing at the lake.

I am very much looking forward to learning with all of you this summer!

Greetings, everyone! My name is Leanne Meili (she/her), and I am currently in the Teaching, Learning and Leading Master's Program.
