Welcome to my ECS 401 Assignment!
Assessment plays a big role in education, they shape how students learn and how teachers can improve their practices. In ECS 401 class, we explore different ways to assess students and rethink assessment as more than just grades, but as a way to support learning.
I think this assignment is really useful because it asks me to imagine that I am being interviewed by a School Division. I have to reflect on why I would be a great candidate for a teaching position and how I would apply key educational topics in my classroom. I also need to explain how I connect to a particular School Division’s views.
For the purpose of this assignment, I chose to explore the Regina Public School Division and imagine myself being interviewed by Regina Public School Board.
Please feel free to navigate through different parts of my assignment here:
- Professional introduction – Why should I be hired?
- Connections to key educational topics: Formative assessment, Indigenous Ways of Knowing, and Differentiation and Making Adaptations.
- Connections to School Division’s vision – Why would I be a strong candidate for this School Division?
I’m excited to share my thoughts and show how I can make a difference as an educator! 🙂
