New Teacher

Introduction

My name is Megan Hauser, and I recently completed my Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Regina. I am currently pursuing a Certificate in Extended Studies in Inclusive Education.

I was born and raised near a small town outside Humboldt, SK, called Middle Lake, where I attended a K-12 school with fewer than 200 students (my graduating class had only four people!). My love for teaching began at a young age. I would often play pretend school with friends and even imaginary students, always walking around with a whiteboard marker in hand, instructing my imaginary class. From a young age, I knew I wanted to teach children one day!

Learning Pickleball!

For my learning project, I have decided to learn how to play pickleball! This includes learning all the individual skills needed to play as well as the technical and rules side of the sport.

At this point (2 weeks into the semester), I have started to be able to properly hit the ball, aim and I am now working on applying pressure/strength to hit the ball further and harder.  I began with familiarizing myself with the sport by googling the rules and regulations, and then went to the court to began rallying around. From here, I tried many different techniques and strategies that I had seen done in my previous research. I have also played a few full games of pickleball, even winning one!
