Who am I?

My name is Kacey Duchak, and I am currently a student in the Faculty of Education PreK-5 program. I work full-time as an Educational Assistant with Regina Public Schools but I am currently on Maternity Leave. I am a mother to three beautiful boys, a cat, and a puppy. I began my journey to become a teacher many years ago and have always remained passionate about the education of our future generations. We as teachers are responsible for creating relational, cultural inclusive, and equitable classrooms. In doing so, we are leading the charge in creating a better tomorrow, moving further away from colonial teaching practices. Some Indigenous teachings that stood out to me and that I hope to incorporate into my future classroom are: What are the forces that shape you? Do you know yourself? How do you nurture your gifts? What will you contribute to society?
