About me!

Hello! My name is Rob Huber, and I am an aspiring teacher currently in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Education program. I have specialized in secondary education with a Major in Physical Education and a Minor in Social Studies. I am passionate about fostering active lifestyles, promoting teamwork, and encouraging a curiosity about the world’s past and present in my future students.

A Little More About Me

When I’m not immersed in lesson planning or internship prep, I enjoy diving into hands-on hobbies and projects that challenge my creativity and skills. Here are a few fun facts about me:

  • Restoring Old Japanese Motorcycles: I have a love for vintage bikes, and one of my favorite pastimes is restoring them to their former glory. My latest project is a 1982 Honda Goldwing Interstate, a classic machine with a rich history and plenty of personality. There’s something deeply satisfying about bringing an old, weathered motorcycle back to life, one bolt and polish at a time.
  • Gardening Enthusiast: I find peace and fulfillment in tending to my garden. Whether it’s growing fresh vegetables, cultivating beautiful flowers, or experimenting with pickling and preserving, gardening provides me with a creative outlet and a connection to nature. It’s also a great way to teach my kids the value of patience and hard work.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator by Trade: Before pursuing my passion for teaching, I worked as a heavy equipment operator, a career I still moonlight in during the summer. Operating everything from motor graders to bulldozers taught me the importance of precision, teamwork, and workplace safety. It’s a unique skill set that I carry with pride and one that often surprises people when they hear about it!

I’m excited to combine my love for hands-on work, active living, and storytelling into my teaching practice. Whether in the gym or the classroom, I hope to inspire my students to find their own passions and pursue them with dedication and curiosity.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect—I’d love to hear your story too!
