My Education
Throughout my own education I attended many different schools. From grade 1-6 I lived in a very small farming community and attended a K-12 school of only 80 people. My grade had 6 children in it and each classroom had 3-4 different grades in it. This experience helped me a lot as a child as I was able to develop at a rate that suited me better due to having such a mixed age group in the classroom. I had very enthusiastic teachers who helped foster a love for learning in me from a young age.
After this I moved to Moose Jaw where I spent the rest of my schooling. I attended a catholic school for middle school. Moving to the city was a big difference for me and being in a classroom with 30 other children my age was something I wasn’t used to. This classroom style helped me a lot as a middle schooler as I was able to learn about myself as I grew up without being influenced by such a large age range of students.
I attended 2 high schools in Moose Jaw, both of which had teachers who enjoyed their jobs and were passionate about the subjects they taught. This environment was one of the main reasons I chose to go into education as I had been able to see the joy and fulfillment of my teachers. I wanted to be able to pass on my love for certain subjects like my teachers had. Without these experiences I wouldn’t have ended up where I am today!
