Being that this would have been my first experience in the classroom setting, we learnt about instructional strategies and techniques. I am definitely still learning and hope to continue to grow, but each presentation really helped my understanding. I have learned what ways some students may respond to the easiest, too seem to engage better through, and I have also learned a lot more about myself as an educator and what I think I would like to incorporate into my future classroom.
Indirect Instruction
I myself got to engage in this type of instruction through my presentation to the class. We taught indirectly through a couple of methods; problem solving and concept mapping. We began the activities where our colleagues had to work and figure out what something meant before we would fully tell them what it was, as exploration before full knowledge is key to deeper knowledge.
