At the time I go every week the kids in my class are doing math and writing. They are a grade 1 class so the information is pretty basic, things like counting to ten and writing small sentences. They have been writing both in French and English which I think is awesome! My teacher always seems to make learning fun by reading stories in funny voices, making activities for the kids and even spending her own money on creating a new type of lesson. Before each activity my teacher takes the time to explain it carefully, asks for questions and tells the students why the activity is important. I think this is great because when students realize that what they are doing is important, they will be more likely to want to do the activity. The students in the classroom always seem engaged in what they are learning and excited to learn new French words or participate in new activities. I think my teacher does a great job of fostering the excitement of learning and I am really enjoying learning from my teacher as well.
