Who’s Hungry for a little ASL?
So, over the last couple of weeks I have been really into learning ASL through TikTok. I have been focusing on my YouTube lessons as well but have really been enjoying the quick tiktok lessons. I wanted to share a fun little mini lesson that I have been working on along side my other learning!
Fruits!
Yes, you heard me correct! I have been having fun learning fruits through the tiktoker @slntwrlddd. Here is the direct link to the Fruits in ASL video. These are so simple and fun and I thought I would share my progress with you all! I also decided to use the Animoto video creator just to versify how I am creating and editing my videos! This is the first time I used voice and music when editing my videos and it actually turned out very well and was much easier than I anticipated!
TikTok Recreation Video
I also went even further outside of my comfort zone and decided to create a TikTok video, I do not have an account so I never really uploaded it to TikTok but I did follow along with the TikToker @f3rnandasl. They created this fun video following a song and signing the fruits so I decided to try recreating it for myself. It is not perfect by any means but I must say I really had a blast creating it and putting the video together! For this I decided to stick with what I knew and edited it with iMovie. It was honestly so fun and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Stay tuned for my next full ASL learning project post when I dive into pronouns!
Hey,
I loved the title of this post, it really caught my attention. So smart to be learning fruits, instead of only basic greetings. It looks like you are really getting the hang of ASL. Good job and I cannot wait to see your next ASL post about pronouns!
Thank you Ashley! The hardest part of a blog post is a catchy title ?. If I am remembering correctly you are also learning ASL, if you haven’t already I highly recommend using TikTok for some quick and simple ASL lessons! Excited to share my ASL pronouns learning with you and the rest of our EDTC 300 classmates!
Great post! I love that you are utilizing Tik Tok as a resource for learning and teaching ASL. I watch Tik Tok all the time and find that I learn so much on the app. I also really love that you are learning fruits too, that really grabbed my attention to this post. You are doing a great job!
