AI Doing All The Work
When it comes to the world of AI this is something that I find very interesting and am curious about. I have been using ChatGPT for a few months now and am becoming more familiar with it.
While using AI there has been a learning curve and realizing how I need to word my messages to get the results I am wanting. While doing my pre-internship I would use ChatGPT to help me add more details to my lesson plans. I had AI help me with adding adaptations and modifications to my lesson plans so all my students can be successful with my lessons. I would also give my ideas and instructions and get AI to reword and help me make my lesson plans make sense to everyone. One thing I noticed when using ChatGPT is that it likes to make everything into categories and jot notes. Often I would have to add that I wanted it in paragraph form to my request.
As a teacher I can see myself using AI to enhance my lesson plans, help write emails, come up with titles for bulletin boards, writing rubrics and more. By using AI I am also getting different ideas that I may not have thought of, I can also have help coming up with ideas that are more engaging for my students. I feel that AI will actually make me a better teacher as it is helping me to do the administrative work so I can spend more of my time and energy with the students doing things that are important to their learning.
I once heard of a teacher having students use AI to write their assignments and then the second part of the assignment was for the student to check the AI’s work and see if it is accurate and correct the work of AI. I think this is great because it is allowing students to use AI which many of them may use anyways and then having them do the research for the assignment as they will need to so they can check the work on the AI. By doing this you aren’t discouraging using AI but students are still doing work and research while still getting to use AI.
I think AI is an amazing technology if used properly, still checking the facts and information AI provides you and not taking advantage of it.
Hi Karlee,
Your post was a great read, I really enjoyed! I agree that ChatGPT is a very handy resource. I used it as a source for my learning project and it worked great!
