    The Importance of ASL Being Recognized as a Language

    This week I started my American Sign Language journey by exploring the ASL Bloom app. This was interesting because I discovered that you only have access to three courses before you are asked to register for an annual subscription. This was extremely disappointing because the app opens by saying that its intent is to share ASL with a larger audience. I did expect that they would want you to subscribe to open more courses at some point, however seeing the number of possible courses there are to take it is disheartening to know that they only allow you to access three of them for free.     The Role of Technology in my Life

    Being born in the early 2000’s I feel lucky because I have gotten to experience major growth in the technology field. When I was young, I did not have access to a lot of technology. I had a TV, a land line telephone, and a Nintendo Wii. With that being said, my time on these devices was limited and not something that I consider to be a major portion of my childhood.     Introduction to Learning Project

    I had trouble deciding what I wanted to focus on for my leaning project. I was tossing around learning to play the ukelele that I got for Christmas last year, learning to crochet, or learning American sign language.     Hello everyone! My name is Karley Van De Sype. I grew up with two younger brothers in a small town about two hours from Regina. I moved to be closer to Regina for school about three years ago.
