What to Include in Your Tool Box
Below are a few ideas you can include in your metaphorical tool box that you use and take to school!
- Practice writing on a whiteboard
- Practice making handouts, note guides, assessments, and formatting
- Develop routines that you want to establish in your classroom
- Seek advice from colleagues and peers, work in cooperative situations
- Observe those around you (teachers, peers, colleagues)
- Attend as many information nights and seminars as possible to gain as much information as you can
- Practice interviewing
- Collect as many resources as possible, even if you don’t think you’ll need them
- Work on your networking
To find more on the resources I’ve collected go to the “For the Teacher”, “Lesson Plans”, “Adapting/Inclusive Resources”, “Math Resources and Tools”, “Physical Education Resources and Tools”, or “Social and Ecological Justice”, or “Treaty Education Resources and Tools” tabs!
