My professional development plans (PDPs) helped me in setting weekly goals. Through these goals, I was able to focus on specific areas of growth every week. What I appreciated the most about PDPs was the fact that we were given feedback on ways we met our goals, as well as ways that we can continue working on them. I found that at the beginning of my field experience, the feedback I received focused on smaller areas of improvement, such as watching my volume. As I progressed, the feedback focused more on larger aspects – such as classroom management techniques. I believe that it is important to continue setting these goals, as it sets expectations, increases motivation, provides direction, and demonstrates my growth as an educator. I have attached copies of my PDPs from my pre-internship journey below.
