About Me

I am 33 years old, originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, but I spent most of my primary and secondary years growing up in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. Currently, I am in my third year working at Notre Dame, and I coach the high school girls’ volleyball team, which keeps me pretty busy. I’m also working on my master’s degree in adult education and human resources, and I’m nearly halfway through my classes.

My Family

My Dad lives in Kamloops, BC with his long-term partner, Kim. My Dad is a retired RCMP officer. My mom and her husband, Ralph, live in Grand Coulee, SK, just west of Regina. I have two sisters and a brother. Chantelle, my oldest sister, lives just East of Saskatoon with her husband, Jonn, their children, Hayes and Hadley. Chantelle works for Affinity Credit Union and her husband works at Powcity Mechanical, doing sheet metal work. Nathan, my second-oldest sibling, lives in Warman, SK with his wife Jenn and their kids, Ava and Auston. My brother works for Pacesetter homes and has a drywall company that he does on the side. His wife is a teacher. My youngest sister, Danica, lives in Grand Coulee, with my mother, and works at the Advanced Eye Care Center in Regina. She has a background in Childcare.

My daughter, Ardann, was born at the end of October 2020. She is 4 years old now. She is attending pre-school and is on her way to Kindergarten in fall 2025. We also have two dogs: Charlie, a Golden Retriever crossed with a Lab, and Lola, a pure bred chocolate Labrador.

Education and Career

I moved to Regina in 2009 to attend the University of Regina, where I earned two degrees: a Kinesiology degree with a major in Health Promotion and a Secondary Education After-Degree with a major in Health Education and a minor in Physical Education.

I started my teaching career at Birch Hills Public School, where I taught a range of subjects from Grade 6 to Grade 8. I later moved to Alberta to teach at Grand Trunk High School, where I taught subjects like Physical Education, Social Studies, and Leadership. After some health challenges, I decided to move back to Regina.

Since then, I’ve completed a certificate in extended studies in Secondary Mathematics to enhance my qualifications. I am currently taking my Masters in Adult Education and Human Resources and hope to gain employment at the University of Regina one day. I currently work at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame and love it out here. The private school experience is way different than the public school experience.

Volleyball and Other Passions

Volleyball is a huge part of my life. I am involved in women’s league, which I run, and multiple co-ed volleyball leagues. I continue to compete in adult tournaments across Saskatchewan and the U.S. Playing volleyball keeps me active and provides an outlet for my competitive side and serves as a sense of community and social life.

I’m also passionate about art, particularly drawing, though I don’t always find the time to practice as much as I’d like. Recently, I’ve started learning how to use a Cricut machine, and I enjoy making things for my family and friends.

That’s a little about me! I hope you stick around and follow along as I continue blogging and sharing more of my journey.
