Unveiling My Journey: Exploring Educational Technology & Blogging
Hello everyone, I am excited to begin my blogging journey. To begin, I am going to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Brodie Ziegler and I come from a family of 5. As you can see in the photo on the right that is my mom, dad, older sister, older brother and myself. I am originally from Francis, SK which is a small town about 45 minutes away from Regina. I moved to Regina in October of 2023 and now live with 5 other roommates (a very hectic household, haha)!
I am currently enrolled at the University of Regina to pursue my bachelor of education (K-5) degree. I am just finishing up my first year and am taking this course (EDTC 300) as an educational elective. My plan is to major into Speech Language Pathology after I receive my Ed degree.
This course marks my initiation into the world of blogging. I am excited to begin and see the final outcome of all my blogs by the end of this course! The blogging process is going to be a bit stressful but I believe that it is a great way to present ways of connecting with others by exchanging ideas and learning from one another. Through this platform, I hope I am able to share my experiences and discoveries with you!
Next, I would like to share a little bit about my journey with educational technology. I am a strong believer that technology definitely enhances learning experiences. I have witnessed this firsthand through a couple of jobs I have been employed at. The first job was at The Family Place which is located in Weyburn, SK. This business is a place where community members can find support and resources necessary to raise strong members of society. Throughout my experiences working at The Family Place I got to witness the impact technology has on young children. I saw how interactive learning apps and educational games sparked curiosity and helped them grasp complex concepts in a fun and engaging way. The next job that gave me experience with educational technology is at Regina Public Schools. I am currently employed there as a casual educational assistant. At the schools I experience many ways technology is impactful but one significant way is the use of communicating. This is used through google translate or picture apps that give students visuals of what the teacher is trying to say. It was truly inspiring to see how technology could empower young learners and foster a love for learning from an early age.
In closing, I am very excited to begin this blogging journey! I am looking forward to growing my learning on the topic of educational technology as well as the process of blogging. Through this platform, I aspire to not only share my own thoughts and discoveries but also engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas with all of you!
