Are you a Teacher 24/7?

Being a teacher you are expected to display a certain level of professionalism both in and out of the classroom environment.  To say someone is a teacher twenty four hours a day to me is a false statement. In order to teach you must also be willing to learn, constantly seeking to further the knowledge that you wish to pass on to your students.  It is your duty to help children learn how to navigate and conquer the world and to realize and achieve their dreams.

As an Education student it is my duty to learn and experience as much as I can so I am able to reach my fullest potential and become an amazing teacher.  During my time studying to become a teacher I want to take advantage of as many opportunities as I can to expand my knowledge and create connections with the teaching community. Being a teacher I will always be sure to remember that I am also the student, forever learning and evolving my knowledge and skills.

Becoming a Teacher

Having grown up surrounded by teachers in my family, it has always been a career I wanted to pursue.  For me school was filled with many struggles; bullying, anxiety, and depression. I had some teachers that were absolutely amazing and some that just didn’t quite fit my learning style.  With that being said, I believe that having such a challenging time in school it only fuels my passion to teach even more. I want to create a learning environment in which my students feel safe, valued, and accepted.  School is your second home as a child and I hope that I am able to make it a place that children truly enjoy.
