Networked Professional Learning: My Contributions to the Learning of Others
A huge part of EDTC300 is supporting your peers and building a PLN. I participated in both of these activities throughout the semester! I set out tweet, comment on tweets, and comment on blogs once per day, even on weekends! Below are screenshots of my contributions to the learning of others! I have gained skills and a PLN that lasts beyond this course, and I am excited to see how I can continue to improve and grow!
Slack Course Community
I contributed a few times this semester in the Slack Course Community. Many times people would beat me to it! I offered my input on learning instruments to posting videos on blogs!
I set a goal to tweet and comment on a tweet every day! I think I did very well with that goal. I have attached some of my best comments below, but there were so many more I could include. The easiest way to check these out would be on my Twitter account. I shared resources with my classmates daily and grew a PLN that extends beyond the EDTC300 class.
Blogs
I also set a goal to comment on my peer’s blogs daily. I have many years of music experience, so I found my most helpful comments were on those who learned an instrument for their project. I also worked at a take out restaurant in my hometown and my boss often made cakes. I offered experience in cake decorating from the knowledge I gained there. This is a selection of my best comments. I commented on even more blogs than this, but I decided not to include my shorter comments where I supported my peers without really adding anything beyond “you have done such great work.” I knew how fulfilling it was to receive comments on posts that I had worked hard on and made it my goal to help others achieve that feeling throughout the project. It is rewarding when you work hard on a post to see others enjoy it!
Twitter Chats
This semester I participated in two Twitter chats. I am excited to participate in more now with classes coming to an end! I contributed to the #Edtechethics chat we did in class as well as a #saskedchat last week! I really enjoy the Twitter chats, and it is interesting to see everyone’s responses to the chat, even if I missed it live!
Creating Resources
Many of my videos I used to document my progress of ASL could be used as resources to learn the language! I put text over what I am signing so others can follow along! Below should link you to the unlisted playlist I made of my more resource geared ASL videos.
Thank you all for supporting me throughout this semester and thank you for reading! Wishing you all health and happiness!
