Personal Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is an evolving profession that develops ingenuity in individuals who are trained in education delivery. The vision of being an Agricultural professional Extension worker in rural communities and a trans-disciplinary background was changed when I adopted a new profession of education down the line. My non-certification internship in my children’s school and gradual progression to assistant teacher changed my perception about education and created a new philosophy ‘to help children develop creative and critical thinking abilities in problem-solving, social skills, self-discipline, effective communication, and character development achieved through a student-centered ambiance in carefully Crafted technologically environment that makes for a sense of pride and responsibility’ and I believe these are my roles as an educator.

My experiences and current enrollment in education are to gain more insight into actualizing my philosophy as well as empowering my students to realize their full potential in opportunities, with support and guidance to achieve learning outcomes. With current training as a teacher trying to stay current with research, is adding to my existing pool of resources.

I have come to understand that an ideal learning environment is fun-filled and engaging. Children must have a sense of belonging before they become active learners. Also, facilitating new learning requires that a teacher knows her students and reviews which strategy is to be adopted for effectiveness. I see myself developing as a constructivist teacher who will share the responsibility for learning with the students by providing a safe space for students to express themselves, produce solutions together, and develop critical and creative thinking abilities as these will, in turn, improve students’ communication skills.

My goal as an educator has always been to produce great future leaders who through critical and creative innovations would make our world a better and safer place. However, this will materialize as I foster my relationship with the students for a better understanding of their needs as well as teaching and supporting them accordingly. I am excited about entering the teaching profession full of rich background. I have a passion for learning that I am eager to share with the students.
