Hi there, thank you for taking the time to view my Eportfolio and specifically the focus of assessment. My name is Jordy McEachern from Regina Saskatchewan and am a recent student-athlete graduate from the University of Regina in Secondary Education with a Masters in Physical Education and a Minor in Mathematics.
In consideration of the hiring process, I am a great candidate for your school division because as a student-athlete I have had the opportunity to develop leadership skills, inclusiveness, accountability, organizational strategies and another perspective to work with children through summer volleyball camps. Beside’s the opportunity given through my internship, these camps gave me an extra perspective to see how diverse children can be, and how to adapt components in our camps to help grow and develop skills in the children while maintaining a fun and inclusive environment. In my years with the University of Regina’s volleyball team being a role model, inspiring and empowering girls and boys through sport is something I have had the privilelge of witnessing through my career as a player. Now putting that behind me and becoming an educator I strive to be able to do empower and inspire my students through the classroom. One of my goals as an educator is to instill students who feel accepted, a sense of belonging and feel valued when going through their own learning process and walking through the doors of their class. I hope to be able to begin my own teaching journey and go through the students in your school division learning journey with them. Through this tab is more information on assessment and why I connect to your school division.
