Summary of Learning— Becoming an Artist For a Day

Hi everyone! Gledi and I decided to make a rap for our final summary of what we’ve learned throughout the course. Below the song is a video of myself explaining and going through the lyrics that I wrote— you can check out Gledi’s version here. I hope you enjoy!

Lyrics:

Verse 1

First day of class got us really excited, introducing ourselves feeling kinda frightened.

Meeting new people through our zoom call in the confusing weather feeling like fall.

It all went really smoothly with the power of technology in the late afternoon.

We got introduced to discord, twitter, blogs. It was all really cool, made me finally enjoy school.

#Edtc300 is where it’s at along with our favorite the sask ed chat.

Talking about important topics every teacher should know, gotta thank Christopherson for being an amazing host ya know.

Next up learning how to create our own website and all its tools, with perfect explanations and demonstrations.

Learning how to add pages, widgets, menus and posts adding photos with credits to their host.

Learning about Creative commons and its use which at first had me super confused.

Utilizing feedly, inoreader, and tweetdeck sharing it all with peers hopes on getting the blue check.

Learning about new chrome extensions/so many that my ad logarithms started mentioning it.

Chorus

Technology is where it’s at, never mind the false news that the earth is flat

Gotta pay attention to all the bots, learning digital literature my at all cost

It’s easy to get lost on the internet, teaching our students to not fall for scammy ad

Teach them how to be respectful, while of course always staying careful.

Verse 2

Careful we gotta stay no matter the day our online identity is at risk everyday.

What is it though, is it important, Katia taught us through our class content.

We feel like we got our citizenship, the digital one, ready to teach our students when the time has come.

With the internet we got the power to do what we want, showcasing our talents with the click of a button.

That is where the power of social media comes into play as Wesch said  we saw the Soulja Boy dance no matter the day.

But We still need to be careful creeps are everwhere gonna teach students about it/ and show that we care. Just remember that

Chorus:

Technology is where it’s at, never mind the false news that the earth is flat

Gotta pay attention to all the bots, learning digital literature my at all cost

It’s easy to get lost on the internetttt/, teaching our students to not fall for scammy adddd/

Teach them how to be respectful, while of course always staying careful

Verse 3:

Although technology can be helpful, we have to be mindful

Small mistakes can turn into bigger mishap, just like how Amanda Todd got caught in a trap

We learned to use technology correctly, focusing on being a respectful digital citizen especially

Through digital sleuthing each other on our devices/, we were able to gain some advices:

  1. Be mindful of what you say, because you could be the next prey,

2. Watch out for trolls and scammers, disguised with girls so glamour,

3. And three, be careful of what you post, because it’ll last for eternity at most

We can fact-check articles with PolitiFact, to make sure that we have our sources in check.

We also talked about cyberbullying and its effects, don’t treat people on social media as objects.

Because what you say is more than just texts and pranks, tell me, would you really send the same thing to your gramps?
