Learning Blog #4: Digital Age-Digital Learning-Twitter: Week 4

Just a few years back I had not imagined, giving lectures online to my class was possible. Just a few months I didn’t there is whole technology that allows me to take all my classes for the semester online, wherever I, whenever want.  And just a few weeks back I didn’t know I will write this blog as part of my B. Ed curriculum or even strange was I had to use Twitter.

As you see, my view of technology and how it’s changing (or had already changed) the landscape of how we learn in this new “Digital Age”. While I brainstorming the tile for this blog,  I googled “Digital Age-Digital Leanings”. This article caught  my eyes:

Right now, we’re on the cusp of an education revolution. As the workplace changes in response to emerging technologies and digital solutions, schools need to prepare students for this evolving job market

I am fortunate, I was able to take this course “EDTC300”. Only 1 month into the course, I feel like I have learned a lot. (Or say, now I know more about, what I don’t know). While I had a Twitter account for while. But, But, I didn’t even remember my Twitter username (password); And ended up creating a new Twitter account. Shows I much I was using Twitter. Now I find myself scrolling through Twitter just to see “What’s happening around the world”.  Since most of the people I follow are from into education; thus by extension, I get to see “What’s happening around the education world”.

I am following along the learning journey of my classmates; it is great to see how they are using digital technology to learn new exciting things. Can we call put it this way “Internet is their teacher, Twitter is the classroom and blogs are our notebooks”?

Twitter, today I am more than just a “microblogging social media”; it’s a digital classroom. Such that even; Twitter and UNESCO have published whole report on it: “Teaching Learning With Twitter”
