Hi everyone, Cody here. For this week’s post, I decided to try a recording app designed for musicians. The app is free and is called Moises. There is of course a paywall to premium options such as auto-tuning the recording to a specific key or chord, and a feature that tracks each chord played. I am a huge fan of Audacity, which I am pretty sure is one of the last things on the internet that is ACTUALLY free. However, there is a learning curve to recording, snapping tracks, beat matching, and layering. On the other hand, I found Moises very user-friendly. You press one button to record and then edit afterward. my only gripe with editing is that you can only snip from the ends and can’t snip a part in the middle. Perhaps this is a premium feature, but I could not seem to find it. In closing, I think this app is great if you think of a cool chord progression and want to record it for later, however, if you want to release the recording I would use a program like Audacity or Fruit Loops.
