Playing Through the Hurt

Cody here. Full disclosure, my mental health has been in the dumps for the last couple of weeks. As a result, I did not feel like playing. However, sometimes we need to push through the pain and play. So that’s what I did, I recorded myself attempting a song that I have never played, so you can see the raw practice. It is a way of me being vulnerable, everything else I have shared I have practiced for hours before sharing. Also, that thumbnail for the video is from years ago, it’s weird that it showed up. Ironically it’s a picture of me recording some original hip-hop stuff I wrote.

** Know that I am both an advocate and an ally for mental health, do not hesitate to reach out to me if you are having trouble, I have heard everything. You are all special and worthy of love.**

Here is the link to the video I watched for Stand by Me by Ben E. King.

Take care out there,

-Cody

You’re doing awesome, Cody! Thanks for sharing your learning process in a video. It is great to see the effort you put in to learning new songs. Sometimes activities and hobbies can be a great way to distract the mind and take a break from other things going on in our lives. Take care!
