Last week, I started training for this pen spinning technique called “Charge.”
A quick re-cap:
This is what charge looks like:
This is what drummers also do, just like what I have stated last blog.
I personally enjoyed learning this since I have learned the simpler version of it, so learning this was extremely simple!
I am still mastering it, but here is how I am doing so far:
As you all could see from the video, my charge spinning is still a little stiff. However, I am very happy with my results. Probably one thing to improve my pen spinning is more training for my finger so it can become more flexible. I do not know if you can see it, but my fingers bend more than usual person. I researched about this and found out that it is called hypermobility. Hypermobility is well-explained by Cleveland Clinic:
Hypermobility means your joints can move beyond the normal range of motion. You may also hear the termĀ double-jointed. This means your joints are very flexible. The most commonly affected joints are your elbows, wrists, fingers and knees.
Do you have this too? Let me know in the comments!
While I do not know if this hypermobility thing is helpful for my pen spinning or not. Only time will tell!
I am learning a lot in my learning project. From pen spinning techniques and modified pens to hand and finger anatomy!
The video tutorial by KTrinh93 was extremely helpful when learning this trick. They went over it in an informative matter. I understood everything. Overall, I learned a lot from this tutorial!
Over the course of next week, I will continue training with this technique until I can smoothly charge.
