This is my I believe statement. I will continue to add to this list as I further develop my beliefs about what I believe it means to be an educator.

• Every child has an equal right to learn.
• Diversity should be embraced in every classroom and school.
• Students need to be challenged in order to grow.
• The classroom should be a safe space for everyone.
• Respect should always be present – the golden rule.
• Teachers should make a conscious effort to be inviting and hospitable.
• Creativity and curiosity should always be embraced.
• Teachers should be dedicated to every student.
• All cultures and identities should be celebrated and honoured in the classroom.
• Learning should be fun.
• A good teacher and role model will learn from their students and peers.
