Week 2
In the past two weeks, I have seen how the community and school intertwine and work together. During my time at the school so far there have been two annual events held by the school for the community. The first was the Scholastic Book Fair and Open House where students would bring their families to meet their teachers and see their learning environments, and also to look at and possibly purchase some books. The second event was held on Monday, October 21st was the Pancake Breakfast. This is done as a fundraiser every year put on by teachers, staff and the School Community Council and is open to anyone who wishes to attend. This year they were extra busy with voting for the federal election happening all day in the library so there were extra guests present. Overall, there are so many working parts in a school, especially in a small community. Events like these and people in the community who are willing to put in hard work are the ones that keep the doors open.
