Forces in Motion

Our grade 3s just started a unit in Science (forces and motion) and today we learned the word “inertia- the property of an object that resists changes in motion. An object at rest stays at rest until a force moves it and an object in motion tends to keep moving at a constant speed example: a waterfall.”

Inertia says an object, the egg in this case, will stay at rest, unless an outside force acts upon it, your hand in this case. When you move the pie pan with your hand, gravity takes over and pulls the egg straight down into the glass of water! I was pretty nervous about this experiment haha, BUT it worked! #grade3 #science #inertia #egg-experiment #gravity #forces #motion
