Lost Boy

Ruth B’s “Lost Boy” was one of my favourite songs when I was a kid. When I saw a youtube video tutorial for how to play it, I was in. So I watched the video a few times and got the hang of what was happening.

Overall it’s a pretty simple song to play with an easy-to-learn strumming pattern that I could easily understand without altering it. The pattern is a simple two-strum for each new chord throughout the song.

The next thing that helped me learn this song was that the notes were primarily comprised of Em, G, and C. This stays the same throughout the song, with the odd Am and D in the mix.

This video was easy to follow, and he helped me learn the song well. It also helped me that I already know the song, so I know when I’m playing the wrong note.

I’ve realized that I struggle a lot with playing C, so that will be one of my focuses for the next week.
