Coding is not for me
I tried to do some coding with an open mind. However, I did not like it at all. I did find it to be somewhat interesting and a good thing to understand how it is done. I created a game on Hour of Code and I chose to create a 3D Trex game. It was very helpful to have the video at the beginning to explain what I need to do and how it works. I still struggled a little bit with coding the game and it took me a while to place things in the right spot.
Once I got going it was interesting. I liked being able to play something that I made. Although I did find it interesting I did not enjoy it. I found it to be somewhat confusing and just overall not for me.
The beginning seemed easy but once there was more options and I had to start creating obstacles is where I got confused.
I think it is important for everyone to code at some point in their life to understand how things are created. I would be interested in incorporating this website into a lesson if I was teaching middle school or high school for students to give it a try. It could either make them realize how games are created, or spark an interest in them, or they may be like me and realize coding is not for them.
Hey Kelsey!
I really do not think coding is for me either, I really struggle with it and understanding the concepts of coding, so it was nice reading your first paragraph and being able to make a connection! Thanks for sharing your thoughts for this week, it was really well written!
