Volunteer Experience

I believe that getting involved in your community is very important which is why I decided to spend many hours doing volunteer work within my small hometown.

During my grade 12 year I did the bulk of my volunteering. It started when when I wanted to get some insight of what elementary education looked like. I volunteered in the grade one classroom in my school throughout my last year of high school. On top of that, I went to the old folks home in Oxbow three days a week, doing crafts, puzzles and visiting with the old people. Along with volunteering at the villa, I looked after the flower beds outside of the villa during the summer after my grade twelve year. Due to Covid, I wasn’t allowed inside of the home so this was an amazing way to still be able to visit with my friends at the villa.
