Critical Teaching Philosophy

As a student who grew up with ADHD struggling to stay engaged in class, my teaching philosophy is centred around encouraging inquiry and maximizing student engagement.

After graduating in 2019 I worked as a Youth Care Worker for three years, primarily with at-risk teenagers and children with cognitive impairments. That experience has laid the foundation for my teaching methods, because I was able to practice breaking down complex topics and lessons so anyone could understand.

I firmly believe in equity of education, and doing our part in dismantling the barriers to entry for all students. Whether it is breaking course material down into more palatable sections so students can better understand, or purposefully constructing units so they flow together, I believe teachers role is to curate those experiences.
