Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 the University of Regina was not able to provide field placements this year.
Luckily, I was able to gain some experience in a school when I volunteered in a pre-K classroom during my grade 12 year since I had enough spares to do so. That was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to gain more in many other classrooms.
I also am fortunate enough to have worked many kid camps throughout high school where I gained a lot of experience working with kids. I also have gotten a little taste of teaching as I teach swimming lessons. As a swimming instructor I have learned many strategies and different ways to teach children as every child learns differently. After each lesson I teach, I find myself learning something new.
I am excited to continue adding to my experience of working with children and very hopeful to getting back in a classroom once it is safe to do so!
