Professor Fatmakhanu Shamshudin Pirbhai Sunderji Samji Ladha Kurji Thoba Jessani-Illich (also known as Fatima Pirbhai-Illich), I included your whole name because of its significance and importance of/to your ancestors and your lineage. Through your 2 lectures that I was fortunate to receive: Invitation & Hospitality and Space, Place, & Boundaries, you opened my eyes and gave me a new perspective about education and the world we live in.
My online ECS100 classmates for our conversations and discussions. You enabled me to come away with many different perspectives and understandings. This course would not have been the same without any of you.
My cooperative teacher, Miss E., you are an amazing example of what a relational, inclusive, passionate, loving educator looks like. Thank you for your encouragement and the many experiences.
The University of Regina’s faculty and staff for making the changes and transitions due to the COVID19 pandemic as seamless as possible for both myself and the many students that attend.
Last and most certainly not least, Julie Macknaik! This course as been my favourite so far. You are an incredible role model, practical, and approachable. You bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, passion, and love to each lecture. Your knowledge comes from real and practical experiences throughout your (6 decade) career as an educator and you fill us with this knowledge rather than throw it at us–you practice what you teach! I hope to take one of your F2F classes in the future…thank you for being an inspiration.
Ooh, that 6 decades has viewers thinking I’m over 80! Think I need to teach until I reach the 7 decades!! Jan 1979-Jan 2030. LOL – you never know, I just might make it! Michelle, how wonderful that we were able to continue our learning journey together in ECS303 in a face-to-face class. Our group had so much fun together no matter if we held class in the lecture hall, outside on the grass or taking over the lab cafe! Next step…internship, Fall 2022. Hope that many of our class will be together for internship seminars.
How thoughtful to include a thank-you page. It has truly been an honour to walk alongside you. Even though I’m in my 6th decade of teaching (that’s just crazy) I still have so much I want and need to learn. “The more we learn, the more we realize we don’t know”.
Thank-you Michelle for being one of MY best teachers this semester! And no matter what we always found a reason to laugh. I definitely hope you will be in my ECS303 pre-internship class so we can continue our learning journey together.
