I want to become a teacher because I had some very strong teacher role models growing up. I didn’t just have a relationship with them in school but also outside of school. I would always be asked by my teachers if I could volunteer my time to help them with a school activity, or coach their kid. I also enjoy the school environment. I never took a spare in High School, and that is because I liked being in the classroom. I believe I have learned a lot from my teachers and that I can make an impact on other students just like they had an impact on me.

As an Education student I want to learn as much as I can. I want to learn how to communicate with students, and learn to better a student’s life outside the school walls. I hope to learn more then just how to teach, but also how to be a role model to my students.

I believe we are teachers 24 hours a day. Being a teacher is more than just teaching the curriculum. It is about teaching social skills, behavioural skills, and responsibility. These skills are very important and can be taught around your household or in public. Students look up to their teachers and they see them as role models. You can always see your students or their parents anywhere and it is best you always act in a professional manner. You want to influence people around you to make good decisions, in order for this to happen you need to make good decisions yourself.
