In our class, my first contribution involved actively engaging in Zoom meetings, where I made an effort to participate by having occasional comments. Although I had few comments to say with the group as a whole, I did engage with the break out rooms and participated highly in those! Additionally, I also interacted with my classmates by giving them positive feedback or expressing my views on their blog posts. When commenting on my peers’ posts, I made it a goal t0 leave thoughtful comments on at least 2 or 3 blog posts per classmate that I visited online. I successfully achieved this goal and am happy I could comment on so many wonderful posts, with comments that were detailed and supportive. As someone on the other end of things as well, I also like receiving positive feedback and words of encouragement, so I tried my best to reciprocate that. When someone commented on my blog, I also made sure I replied back to a few individuals on my own posts who had questions for me or gave me advice!
Another positive interaction occurred when I connected with my classmate Kyle. Even with not knowing each other, we decided to meet online as we shared online classes, and offered to help one another with some questions. Following our Digital Identity Investigations on each other, Kyle and I arranged a Facetime call to discuss our findings and give each other tips for our Learning Projects. What started as a conversation on our digital investigations, started a lengthy discussion that was full of topics including our experiences in the class, blog formatting tips, internships, and even personal interests and stories that were not apart of our digital investigations. Overall, these interactions not only allowed me to help out a classmate or two, but provided me with the opportunity to make connections with my classmates and peers!
