- Students should have an influence on the content, activities, and material they learn
- A positive and safe environment offers more opportunities to learn
- The development of critical thinking skills and morals/values are important in the learning process
- That students’ feelings and thoughts must always be considered valid
- Discipline over punishment
- Education should be accessible to everyone
- In hands-on learning
- In multiple teaching styles
- Written tests are not the only way to show a student’s understanding
